Our History
In May 2006, Pastor and Mrs. Craft arrived in Kaiserslautern, Germany to lay the groundwork to start the Heritage Baptist Church. They were blessed to have the support of a team of young people and youth leaders of the Temple Baptist Church in Flower Mound, Texas. This team, along with other military missionaries, and folks from Rhein River Baptist Church, Mannheim, Germany, helped us distribute 1500 invitations for the first service of the new church. The first service was held July 2nd, 2006.
We wanted the first service to be wonderfully blessed by our Lord. We had no idea who might come and especially on a holiday weekend. To our great joy, five new families visited in that first service and another new family came the very next Sunday.
From those humble beginnings, God has blessed Heritage Baptist Church in a wonderful way.
In September of 2007, we were able to secure the present facility in Mehlingen. Through Divine leading, we were led to this property! Immediately, the few families of Heritage Baptist Church began a full scale renovation of the property. Help came physically and financially from many different avenues.
Our goal was and continues to be excellence in all that we do.
Over the last four years, the church has experienced great growth in every area and the church facility has been wonderfully and beautifully renovated.
Reaching the Kaiserslautern military community is our goal and our U.S. military and their families has proven to be one of the great and fruitful mission fields of the world.
Heritage Baptist Church in the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC) has been truly blessed by our Lord and we are grateful!
